Review: Swiftkey Will Make You Awesome

On October 11, 2011, in Reviews, Technology, by Stanimal

I’ll admit, I wasn’t a fan of touch screen keyboards on Android, that’s why my 1st Android phone was the original Motorola Droid.  I felt like I needed that physical keyboard to type…and I did.  I tried a bunch of touch screen keyboards, and for the most part, they were laggy, gimicky, had terrible dictionaries and even worse text prediction.  Then, I met Swiftkey and my life has changed…really, I can now send messages without sounding like an idiot!

No more lag, no more fat fingering, no more sending messages with “Ho widey” instead of “Hi wifey”…it’s a life saver!  Not only does the keyboard learn your vocabulary via text messages, it also learns from your Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail.  Now you might have concerns with privacy, but if you have a smartphone and you install apps, there goes your privacy.  But here’s a little quick blurp regarding Swiftkey’s privacy policy:

“In relation to our Apps such as SwiftKey, learned language data generated and stored on your computing devices, such as mobile phones and tablets, is never accessed by, or transmitted to us unless you wish to use additional features or services which would require the use of such data. Where we offer any additional services or facilities that do require use of data which might include personal information, such as server-based personalized services, then we will always seek your consent to the use of such data before providing such services or facilities.”

Anyway, you can try before you buy.  The app is free for the 1st month with the option to purchase for $3.99. Try it out, thank me, and purchase.

Netflix plan to split their services is taking a step backwards. Netflix CEO seems to be making some flip-flop decisions as of late and the shareholders should be a little concerned. Not good for the image. Like I said before, shoulda chose the name Cube Monster…hahaha.

For founder and president of David Reith and Associates, Inc. we were able to help David get his business streamlined. He had already purchased the domain name, but the domain was parked and he was ready to get his website up and running. Most of his business comes by word of mouth and from former clients. We were able to help David Reith and Associates, Inc. by doing the following:

1) Set up a website with his contact information. We set up a splash screen for the company with the contact information and a set up a method for potential clients to get in touch with them.

2) Integrated domain name: http://www.davidreithandassoc.com with Google Apps. By doing this, we were able to give David and his company the ability to use Branded Gmail like services. A lot of people already use Gmail for their personal email, so we were able to give him the ability to:

- Use Google Mail for Company Email and allow him to administer email addresses to his employees. The email was branded with the company logo
- Use Google Docs for Company Documents and immediately available to all employees
- Use Google Calendar for Company Calendars and immediately available to all employees
- Take advantage of Project Management applications to help streamline his business

We were able to get this done in a fairly quick time frame. Please visit:
